The Security Supervisor is responsible for deterring and/or effectively responding to shipboard incidents involving violations of the Guest Conduct Policy or other shipboard incidents as required by the Master. Reporting to the Security Officer (or equivalent position on Celebrity ships), the GSS will provide a highly visible security presence, that enhances the overall guest vacation experience by reducing the frequency and/or severity of incidents. Is an active member of the shipβs crew, participating in training opportunities to elevate their level of awareness, ability and willingness to contribute to the security of the ship.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Security Supervisor shall have an understanding of the Safety and Quality Management
Program including responsibilities and those of the Security Guards in the Safety Organization
according to the Emergency Plan and Station Bill. An excellent understanding of the Master's
rules and regulations and the companyβs policy and a thorough knowledge of the Security manual
are essential for this position.
The Security Supervisor's working hours should be adjusted as appropriate to the ship's routine.
He shall monitor the day/night security and prepare a log of activities during the night time hours
for presentation to the Chief Security Officer. The Chief Security Officer will produce a Night
Report from this log for presentation to prescribed ship's management.
The Security Supervisor shall be familiar with all duties regarding the safety rounds and the
gangway security. (See Security Manual for specific instructions.)
The Security Supervisor shall, through his observations, preserve the safety of the vessel, passengers, and the crew.
During Safety Rounds the Security Supervisor shall always be alert and follow the designated
procedures. He may be the first person to arrive at the scene of an incident or a fire, and will have
to assess a situation and act accordingly until help arrives.
The situation will dictate any action taken by the Security Supervisor. In the case of a fire alarm,
the Security Supervisor will respond immediately to the location of the alarm. He will then be
responsible for making quick decisions based on previous instructions and experience.
The Security Supervisor shall immediately inform the Duty Officer on the Bridge and any other
concerned Officer of any incident which has occurred.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 4 years of security experience mandatory β Army/Maritime/Aviation/Police or Hotel Security environment.
A high level of English communication skills and experience/training in crowd management and customer relations, principally relying on non-aggressive, non-lethal forms of conflict resolution and crowd control.
Ability to patrol in a none-routine manner, maintaining a high level of visibility and effectively dealing with escalating issues When necessary, utilize defensive tactics and hand-to-hand skills to control or escort hostile persons. Recognize, preserve and properly document evidence.
Ability to diplomatically or, if necessary, physically deal with guests in tense, adversarial or confrontational situations.
A level of physical fitness which permits the use of physical control and restraint techniques if needed.
A well groomed, physical appearance and demeanor that establishes a presence that serves as an incident-deterrent as well as a reassurance to guests.
Knowledge of relevant equipment, processes and strategies to promote effective security.
Ability to work effectively with others in a multicultural environment.
Minimum 21 years old.
